Registration & Setup
Getting started with SAR Portal takes just a few minutes. This guide walks you through the registration process and initial setup.
Step 1: Create Your Account

Visit sarportal.com and click Start Free Trial or navigate to the registration section

Fill in your details:
- Company Name - Your organization’s legal name
- Email Address - This becomes your admin account
- Country - For billing and data residency purposes
- Billing Frequency - Monthly or Annual (save up to 40% annually)

Select your plan:
- Basic - For small businesses just starting with GDPR
- Starter - AI-powered redaction and document processing
- Pro - Higher limits, RBAC, custom branding, priority support

Click Start Free Trial to create your account
14-Day Free Trial
All plans include a 14-day free trial with full access to features. No credit card required to start.
Step 2: Activate Your Account
After registration, you’ll receive a welcome email:
- Check your inbox for the email from SAR Portal
- Click the Activate Account button
- You’ll be redirected to sign in with your email
- Complete the authentication process
Check Your Spam Folder
If you don't see the activation email within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder. Add noreply@sarportal.com to your contacts.
Step 3: Complete Initial Setup
On first login, you’ll be guided through initial setup:
Organization Details
- Confirm your company name
- Add your company address (used for legal documents)
- Set your timezone for deadline calculations
Contact Information
- Primary contact email (for DSAR communications)
- Support email (shown to data subjects)
- DPO email (optional - for compliance notifications)
Portal Configuration
- Your public portal URL is automatically generated
- Customize your portal appearance (logo, colors)
- Configure notification preferences
Step 4: Invite Team Members (Optional)
If you have colleagues who need access:
- Go to Users in the sidebar
- Click Invite User
- Enter their email address
- Select their role:
- Admin - Full access including billing and user management
- Case Manager - Create and manage cases, but no admin access
- Reviewer - View cases and documents, limited editing
- Read Only - View-only access for auditors
They’ll receive an invitation email to join your organization.

Your Public Portal URL
Every organization gets a unique public portal URL where data subjects can submit requests:
https://app.sarportal.com/public/submit/{your-tenant-id}
You can find this URL in Settings > Integrations and add it to your privacy policy or website.
